What is it?
Your Insights is a community of adults living in Canada, who have been provided with a forum to voice their opinion on a variety of topics that matter to Canadians. Members provide opinions, and then learn what the majority and the minority believe.
Who manages it?
YourInsights.ca is managed by Insights West, a full-service marketing research company that provides insights-driven solutions and interpretive analysis based on leading-edge tools and senior-level expertise for public & private sector clients in Canada. The company was founded by Steve Mossop, who was responsible for building Ipsos Reid into Western Canada's largest market research company in Alberta and British Columbia. Why should I join?
You will have the chance to voice your opinion and make it count on issues that matter.
We will share survey results. You will learn what others think and how results can influence decision makers.
You will be rewarded for your participation. You can earn between $0.50 to $5 for some surveys, for others you will be entered into sweepstakes draws with chances to win gift cards from a variety of Canadian retailers.
How do I join?
Go to our registration page or click on the ‘join now' button on the top of the screen. You will be asked to fill in some basic information including creating a login and password. Once registered, you will immediately receive your first survey via email, where we'll learn a bit more about you. Once you have completed your first survey, you will officially become a member of the Your Insights panel.
What are the requirements to join?
To join Yourinsights.ca, you must be at least 18 years of age and currently reside in Canada. You must first register with a user name and password on the website www.yourinsights.ca, and subsequently complete a short profiling survey that is emailed to you in order to confirm your membership.
What profile information is collected from me?
Upon registration, we'll collect your contact details including name, address, email and phone number. On our first survey to you before becoming an official member, we'll ask for some additional demographic information on items such as gender, income, education, household composition and a few others. Profiling this information will help us ensure we have a wide range of all types of panelists that represent the true Canadian population.
How do I update my profile?
To update your profile, simply sign into your account on the yourinsights.ca home page. Once signed into the members area, you will then be able to click on the ‘My Profile' button located at the top of the screen. Once there, you can update any of the fields provided.
How do I log in?
To log into your profile, go to the yourinsights.ca home page, and sign in with your user name and password. Once in the members area, you will be able to view or edit your profile, as well as see which surveys you've been invited to.
What if I forgot my password?
If you forgot your password, simply click on the ‘forgot password' link located with the sign in area on the yourinsights.ca home page. You will then be prompted to provide your email address, and once submitted you will receive an email with this information.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, sign into your profile on the home page of www.yourinsights.ca. Once there, click on the ‘my profile' button at the top of the page where you will then be able to enter in a new password.
How long do I remain on the panel?
You will remain on the panel as long as you are an active participant and respond to survey invitations. If you do not respond to any survey invitation for 3 months, you will be terminated. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
How do I unsubscribe?
You may unsubscribe to Your Insights at any time. There are two ways you can unsubscribe to Your Insights:
- Click ‘unsubscribe' in any email communications received.
- Once signed into the members area of yourinsights.ca, click ‘unsubscribe' on the welcome page under ‘sign in'.
How often will I receive survey invitations?
You can expect to receive at least one ‘paid' survey per month, as well as a variety of ‘fun' sweepstakes surveys. The ‘fun' surveys won't take more than 5 minutes to complete for a chance to win gift certificates for some major retailers like Starbucks, Amazon.ca, Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire. The longer, ‘paid' surveys you complete will earn you between $0.50 to $5 per survey.
How can I find surveys?
If you are invited to participate in a survey, we will always send you an invitation via email. You can also check to see which surveys you've been invited to by logging into your profile on yourinsights.ca and clicking on the ‘My Surveys' button located at the top of the screen.
How do you decide what to pay for each survey?
You may receive a sweepstakes entry for some of the shorter ‘fun' surveys, and for the longer ‘paid' surveys you will receive anywhere from $0.50 to $5. Factors that determine what we pay for each survey include length, topic and/or complexity.
I clicked on a survey link from my email invitation, but cannot connect to the survey. What should I do?
It is possible that the link is spread across two lines of email. Try copying and pasting the link into your browser's address bar.
I'm having trouble/technical difficulties taking a survey. What should I do?
Please go to the ‘contact us' link located at the bottom left side of the www.yourinsights.ca website, and fill in the form with details about what you are having difficulties with.
Why do some surveys end early, or I'm not allowed to complete them?
Some surveys are looking for specific types of people with specific characteristics. Other times, we've reached the maximum number of participants within a certain demographic, which helps ensure we have representative answers to the population of interest.
Even if you do not qualify to continue on in a survey, we still appreciate your effort. In some cases, a partial point credit may be awarded.
How do points work?
All active members will obtain a points account in which they will be eligible to earn points from completing some of the surveys they are invited to participate in. Each time you complete a longer "paid" survey your account will be updated and credited. The number of points received for each survey may vary between 100 and 500 points, the equivalent of $1 and $5, and will be announced prior to each survey.
How can I check my points balance?
To check your points balance, log into your profile at yourinsights.ca and click on the 'Rewards' tab in the menu. You can then see the points that you have accumulated under the 'Account Balance' heading at the bottom of the page.
How can I redeem my points?
When your account reaches the point equivalent of $25 (2500 points) you may redeem your points through the yourinsights.ca website. To redeem points, please sign in and click on 'Rewards'. Once there, scroll down to the 'Redeem Points Here' section and click on 'see details'. Redeeming points in amounts less than $25 is not permitted.
Do points expire?
Points never expire as long as you continue to be an active member of the yourinsights.ca panel and as long as the points program remains in effect. However, if you unsubscribe from yourinsights.ca or if your membership is terminated, your points account will be closed and all points will be forfeited.
What contests do you have and when are they used?
For each survey that you complete, you will be entered into our quarterly draw. Click here to view our contest rules for the quarterly prizes.
We may also have contests that are specific to a survey, for those, contest details & rules will be provided within the survey invitation when you are invited to participate.
How are winners notified?
Winners will be notified via email within 48 hours of a relevant draw. Selected entrants will be required to acknowledge by email, receipt of notification of eligibility for prize and to arrange for a mutually convenient day and time to administer a time limited mathematical skill-testing question. If no response is obtained within 7 days of notification of the relevant draw, the prize(s) will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner(s) in a random draw selected by computer from the remaining eligible entries. Prize(s) will be delivered by mail within 60 days of correctly answering the mathematical skill-testing question and upon receipt of a signed waiver.
How is my personal privacy protected?
Your email address will not be forwarded to third parties unless you give explicit permission, so you will not receive spam as a result of your participation in the yourinsights.ca panel.
How is my personal information used?
Any personal information we collect remains completely confidential and is strictly used for research purposes only. Some of the information we collect allows us to analyze results by subgroups. To ensure your total privacy, your answers are grouped together with other members who completed the same survey and the results are only viewed in aggregate, so we never trace responses back to any single panelist.
